Shortly after the tragic murders in Tucson by lone gunman Jared Loughner, former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin observed, echoing the words of President Ronald Reagan: “Acts of monstrous criminality stand on their own. They begin and end with the criminals who commit them, not collectively.”

To an overwhelming majority of Americans this sentiment rang true. 

And yet, Rep. Peter King (R-N.Y.) seems to have missed this very important point, as he prepares congressional hearings this Thursday that do not simply target the criminal, they target an entire community of at least 3 million hardworking American Muslims. Americans who are doctors, lawyers, teachers, firefighters, police officers. Republicans and Democrats. Members of Congress.
