Sen. Robert Menendez (D-N.J.) loves short stacks.

“I love #IHOP & this day!,” Menendez tweeted.

March 1 is National Pancake Day at the breakfast food chain IHOP ("International House of Pancakes"). The restaurant is giving away free short stacks of pancakes from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.  In exchange, IHOP asks customers to donate to Children's Miracle Network Hospitals and other designated local charities.

“Retweet & support to help the kids,” Menendez asked his followers.

The annual National Pancake Day began in 2006 and, according to IHOP, has raised $5.35 million for chariti! es including Children's Miracle Network Hospitals and given away more than 10.1 million buttermilk pancakes.
