Pols write positive Tweets on dog sled race

The 2011 Alaska Iditarod sled dog race started today and at least two Republican pols had some fond things to tweet about it.

Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer (R) spent the morning at the race before going on a "flightseeing" tour:

"Had a good morning at the Iditarod Race...now taking a Denali flightseeing tour," Brewer tweeted.

And Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) not only had fun at the Iditarod this morning but a! lso wished a few of the participants good luck:

"Enjoying the #Iditarod opening ceremonies with racing champions Larry Westlake & Emmit Peters," Murkowski tweeted.

According to the Anchorage Daily News, 62 mushers are in the race for the $50,400 first place prize.Â
