postheadericon Partnership not profiling

Despite consistent vigilance against terrorism, the past two years have been a difficult for American communities and U.S. law enforcement alike. Several attempted plots have been uncovered within our borders, including the Times Square car bomb plot, the Washington, DC, “Metro plot” and the Christmas Tree lighting attempted attack in Portland, OR, both thwarted in December. We’ve also seen an IRS office attacked, the attempted bombing of a major mosque and a murder at the Holocaust Museum. Understandably, many Americans are concerned. 

Some, however, are exploiting these concerns to advance a political agenda rather than seeking real solutions. Before he was even named Chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, Rep. Peter King (R-NY) announced that he intends to hold a series of hearings on the “radicalization of the American Muslim community” because they do “not cooperate with law enforcement.”
