Democrats wasted no time on Monday fanning the flames of a reported rift between Fox News and pundit Glenn Beck, polling supporters about whether or not the conservative rock star should get the boot.

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) asked its Facebook and Twitter followers about whether Fox News should dump Beck, whose ratings have taken a hit and whose on-air rants have cost the networks advertisers.

The DCCC tweeted:

Uh oh...The NYT says Glenn Beck may be on the rocks with Fox News. Take our FB poll: Should Fox dump Beck? http://dems.me/gSWPot

David Carr of the New York Times wrote Monday in his column that Fox executives are contemplating life without Beck once his contract expires, reflecting diminished ratings and a more pessimistic tone of the TV pundit.

Beck's been one of the most strident critics of President Obama, especially during last year's healthcare debate, which fueled a feud between the White House and Fox News that only thawed in earnest during the last six months.
