postheadericon Boehner, Clinton toast Twitter on its fifth anniversary

House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton joined a set of celebrities to toast the microblogging site Twitter on its fifth anniversary.

Both the Ohio Republican and former Democratic senator from New York appeared in a YouTube video paying tribute to the fifth anniversary of Twitter's creation on Monday.

"People can exchange ideas and information instantaneously," Clinton said. "Countries and cultures are brought together like never before."

Boehner said: "I want to listen to the American people, so I follow thousands."

Boehner is an active user of Twitter, both through his official account â€" @SpeakerBoehner â€" and his campaign-linked account, @JohnBoehner.

! Clinton does not officially have an account, though the State Department's (@StateDept) account is active.

Also appearing in the video are a number of celebrities, like Snoop Dogg and Martha Stewart.
