A bomb explosion at a large bus stop in Jerusalem Wednesday wounded at least 25 people, the Associated Press reported. 

According to media reports, the explosion could be heard throughout Israel's capital city and first responders could be seen removing injured people on stretchers from the scene. 

Israeli authorities told the AP that at least 15 of the 25 wounded were seriously injured. No fatalities have been reported.

The bus bombing comes about two weeks after Palestinian terrorists killed five members of a Jewish family, including three children, in the West Bank town of Itamar.

Jerusalem experienced widespread attac! ks on buses and other public places during the Second Intifada, which lasted nearly five years after beginning in 2000. But recently, violence has subsided. The last suicide bombing in Jerusalem occurred in 2004, according to the AP.
