Nearly a dozen people in the tunnels beneath the House office buildings were treated by doctors on Monday after they reported similar symptoms to those caused by pepper spray, the New York Post reported.

Capitol Police did not know what caused the 11 people, inc! luding a Capitol Police officer, to fall ill. But a spokeswoman told the Post that the substance in the air was not hazardous. The rear exits to the Longworth House Office Building were opened to ventilate the tunnels stretching between it and the Rayburn House Office Building, the paper reported.
