The federal government â€" and this Administration in particular â€" seems to suffer paranoid schizophrenia with regard to privacy issues.  When it comes to the American people, no level of scrutiny is sufficient to secure our safety.  A federal government increasingly suspicious of everyone wants to look closer at our private lives, examining our bodies, our homes, our cars, and our businesses.  But when we the people want to know what our government is doing, the Administration sees no such need for transparency.
