Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R) will headline an early-October fundraiser in Miami to raise money for "principled grassroots conservatives," according to a Florida Tea Party group.

The group Sfla Conservative posted on its website Monday that the 2008 vice presidential nominee will spearhead the event at the 20,000-seat American Airlines Arena in Miami.

"Gov. Palin is in Miami to raise funds to help elect principled grassroots conservatives. You are invited to get involved in this, the most critical midterm election in our republic's h! istory," it reads.

Palin, a favorite of the Tea Party movement, has been a central player during the 2010 midterm cycle, endorsing donating money to a number of national and state GOP candidates.

There has also been talk of Palin eyeing a White House run in 2012, but she finished fifth, with 7 percent of the vote, in a straw poll at the Values Voter Summit in Washington. Palin did not attend the event.

White House press secretary Robert Gibbs last week called Palin "the most formidable force in the Republican Party."

Palin's visit to Miami comes five days before President Obama is scheduled to appear at a fundraiser for congressional Democrats at the home of Miami Heat legend Alonzo Mourning.
