Delaware GOP Senate nominee Christine O'Donnell said Tuesday night that she would not make any more national media appearances between now and Election Day.

In an interview on Fox News's "Hannity" show, O'Donnell, who canceled spots on CBS's "Face the Nation" and "Fox News Sunday" last weekend, said that going on national-media outlets would not help her win the election.

{mosads}"I'm not going to do more national media because this is my focus. Delaware is my focus and the local media is my focus," she said.

O'Donnell has been one of the most sought-after political candidates by national media following her shocking win over centrist Rep. Mike Castle (R-Del.) in last week's Senate primary.

Media outlets have looked to press her on controversial statements she has made in the past about sexual topics, as well as questions surrounding her mortgage and tax returns. O'Donnell did several national interviews last week following her ! election but had stayed quiet for the days following that.

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin (R), who endorsed O'Donnell in the primary, in a recent tweet recommended that she largely shun the national media in favor of local outlets.

During her appearance on "Hannity," O'Donnell dismissed criticism of her past as personal attacks.

"Well, watch this. Watch how this campaign unfolds. They started their ads this week and they are attacking me personally," instead of on her policy positions, she said.

Those attacks are "why I'm getting out there to the people of Delaware, why I canceled the Sunday shows when churches invited me to attend their services and people in Delaware invited me to go to their picnics. Because this race is about what's important to the people of Delaware ... how we're going to get jobs back, how we're going to reduce the size of government" and the expiration of the George W. Bush tax cuts.

The Delawar! e GOP candidate is expected to appear once more on national ca! ble, tho ugh not in an interview format. CNN plans to broadcast the Oct. 13 Delaware Senate debate, which will feature anchor Wolf Blizter as a co-moderator.

Recent polls show O'Donnell trailing her Democratic opponent, Chris Coons.
