Sen. George LeMieux (R-Fla.) shared a meal with historian and bestselling author Doris Kearns Goodwin on Wednesday, he noted on Twitter.

"Privileged to have dinner with Pulitzer Prize winning author Doris Kearns Goodwin. Talked about Lincoln, TR and FDR," he said.

Goodwin is the author of "Lyndon Johnson and the American Dream," "The Fitzgeralds and the Kennedys: An American Saga," and most recently "Team of Rivals" about former president Lincoln and his cabinet.
