White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said he will not change the way he uses Twitter despite his account getting infected by a widespread virus Tuesday

Gibbs joked that the stream of letters and numbers that was published on his account "looked like a scene out of the movie 'War Games' " but said he would continue to use the microblogging site as he always has.

"From time to time, I have no doubt that there will be those that want to gum up the system and things like that," he said. "I don't hesitate to continue to use it."

Gibbs, who has more than 97,000 Twitter followers, usually posts on his account links to stories he views as favorable to the White House or those he wants to rebut. He occasionally tweets reaction to events or breaking news.

Asked if he was worried about a security breach or a misinterpretation of the White House's message due to Internet hacking, Gibbs brushed those concerns aside.

"If you didn't do that because you were worried about that, like I said, you would â€" we'd all be writing on â€" yes, parchment, or we'd be sending letters in the mail as press releases, which we used to do not too long ago. So, it's the vagaries of doing business."
