The U.S. Capitol Police's chief administrative officer announced her retirement on Wednesday.

Capitol Police chief administrative officer Gloria L. Jarmon said she plans to retire next month to become the chief executive officer of her own CPA financial services firm.

"I will miss my work and the people at the U. S. Capitol Police, but it's time for me to move to a new chapter in my life," Jarmon said in a statement.

For more than two years, Jarmon has been with the Capitol Police, where she played a pivotal role in the department's first clean opinion on its financial statements, according to a Capitol Police statement.

“I would like to thank Gloria Jarmon publicly for her service to the department and the federal government," said Capitol Police Chief Phillip D. Morse. "Her many contributions to the U.S. Capitol Police have promoted and supported the mission of the Department. I wish Gloria a happy retirement and successful future.”
