Tweeting with Snooki is an 'American phenomenon,' says McCain

Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) took a moment in a radio interview Friday to recount his Twitter correspondence with Nicole “Snooki†Polizzi of MTV's "Jersey Shore."
"When Snooki tweeted that she was mad at Obama for raising taxes on tanning beds, I tweeted back that I would not do that [raise taxes] and that she should wear sunscreen," he told Arizona station KTAR, chuckling.
"That got more coverage â€" went more viral â€" than anything," he continued. "That same week I gave a speech on human rights in Iran, and everyone just wanted to know about Snooki."
"That right there â€" tweeting with Snooki â€" that is an American phenomenon," he said.
