postheadericon Iowa Republican reacts to mosque controversy: 'Are we wimps?'

Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) used Twitter on Tuesday to weigh in on the controversy surrounding the proposed mosque in Lower Manhattan.

He said:

Ground Zero mosque must be blocked by public rejection. Twin towers will not be rebuilt Replacement construction barely begun. Are we wimps?

King appeared with former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum on Monday in Sioux City, Iowa, at an event for his political organization, Conservative Principles PAC.

"That [grassroots conservative] energy is all across America, it's here in the Midwest, it's here in Siouxland, and it needs to be harnessed," he told the crowd.
