The Architect of the Capitol’s (AoC) office said the revised House schedule would not have any impact on the renovation efforts scheduled for the summer recess in the lower chamber.

“We will adjust to the Congressional schedule as we always do,” said Eva Malecki, a spokeswoman for the AoC.

The office of the AoC is planning to replace the House chamber’s 30-year old main using the liquid crystal display technology used in the summary displays that were upgraded last summer.

“The implementation of the new main displays will provide the House of Representatives with a more dependable voting display that is compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act as it will ensure increased clarity and readability.”
