When Kansans elected me in 2008, they sent me to Washington to stand up for their interests in policy debates in the House of Representatives. I take that responsibility very seriously, and I hope that my 434 colleagues in the House felt that same sense of responsibility the day we were sworn in for the 111th Congress.
