Pressed for time, Senate Majority Leader has postponed consideration of the Senate oil spill bill, which he unveiled just last week, until after the August recess.

The legislation’s threat to jobs in the states along the Gulf of Mexico, already struggling with the impacts of the spill, could be especially severe. But the economic damage would spread across the country, where thousands of other workers would also be vulnerable.
