Vice President Joe Biden on Tuesday will lunch with famed Holocaust survivor, political activist and noted author Elie Wiesel. 

The White House did not mention what topics Wiesel will discuss with Biden -- the former chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee -- and said the meeting is closed to the press.

Wiesel is no stranger to the Obama administration. Last June, he accompanied President Obama and German Chancellor Angela Merkel to the Buchenwald concentration camp during the president's visit to Europe. He also lunched with Obama in May.

Wiesel has authored several books, such as Night, which recount his experience being sent to a Nazi concentration camp as a young man.

The meeting comes amid debate over a proposed Islamic center near the site of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, which has prompted a discussion about religious tolerance.

President Obama has voiced support for the planned facility and! Wiesel has not spoken out about it.
