Mitt Romney reportedly reached out to former President George W. Bush after the nation's 43rd president offered a casual endorsement while boarding an elevator earlier this week.

Romney called Bush to thank him for his support, according to ABC News.

Bush made the comment after speaking at a human-rights forum Monday in Washington, D.C.

"Im for Mitt Romney," the former president told the network as the doors of the elevator he was riding closed.
