Donald Trump has muscled his way back into presidential politics this week, advocating for a speaking spot at the Republican National Convention, suggesting his viability as a vice presidential candidate, speculating about creating his own Super PAC and serving as the star attraction for a lottery run by Mitt Romney's campaign team to draw fundraisers to the campaign.

But despite his increased prominence, the reality television show host is doubling down on his controversial assertion that President Obama is lying about being born in the United States.

"Look, it's very simple, a book publisher came out three days ago and said that in his written synopsis of his book he said he was born in Kenya and raised in Indonesia. His mother never spent a day in the hospital," Trump told the Daily Beast.
