Former Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich plans to campaign with former rival Mitt Romney in the coming weeks.

“Look, I talk regularly with the Romney folks. I’m helping him in a number of places. I’m doing an event next week in Georgia for him and I’m going to speak for him at the Georgia convention next weekend. I’m going to be with him at the end of the month in Las Vegas at a big event, and I’m going to do all I can to help Mitt," Gingrich said Friday on the Laura Ingraham show.

Some have questioned the relationship between the former Speaker and the presumptive Republican nominee after a bruising primary campaign, and in his concession speech, Gingrich spoke of Romney mostly as a better alternative to President Obama than a desirable choice in his own right. But on Friday, Gingrich contrasted his support to Rick Santorum, who requested a meeting with Romney before providing an endorsement and did so in a lengthy e-mail s! ent to supporters late in the night.
