Mitt Romney on Friday addressed suggestions that former staff members destroyed information about his time as governor of Massachusetts, saying his staff "followed the law exactly as it's written."

Romney’s comments follow his campaign’s response to a report in the Boston Globe on Thursday that suggested his staff destroyed information from his tenure as Massachusetts’s governor before he left office in 2007.

"We actually put 700 boxes of information into the archives that wasn't even required so we followed the law exactly as intended and as written," Romney told reporters in New Hampshire, according to multiple reports.
