Spokesmen for Mitt Romney’s and President Obama’s presidential campaigns mixed it up on Twitter Monday, an unofficial skirmish on the sidelines of what seems to be an escalating battle between two candidates who are still not in direct competition.

Romney senior adviser Eric Fehrnstrom tweeted Monday that Obama campaign Press Secretary Ben LaBolt has referenced Romney over 110 times on Twitter in the last month.

“Get out much?” Fehrnstrom tweeted.

“Only when Animotion is on tour,” LaBolt fired back in a tweet, referring to an '80s synth pop band that sang a song called "Obsession," a word Romney's campaign used earlier in the day! to describe Obama's interest in their candidate.
