postheadericon Heritage, AEI move debate to declutter GOP schedule

A GOP presidential debate focused on national security has been moved from Tuesday, Nov. 15, to Tuesday, Nov. 22, in an effort to accommodate a quickly crowding schedule of debates and campaign events as the Republican field barrels toward the first primary contests.

"The national security debate, a landmark first for AEI and Heritage, has moved to Nov. 22 to accommodate this season's crowded debating schedule," the conservative think tanks, which are co-sponsoring the debate with CNN, said in a statement.

The debate will be held in Washington, D.C., and is one of five set for November. The GOP has another three debates planned for December, with a short break for the holidays, and then six more in the month of January as early-voting states go to the polls.
