Newt Gingrich poked fun at Rick Perry's embarrassing flub in Wednesday night's Republican presidential debate during a campaign event Thursday.

Perry made headlines when, during the debate, he could not remember the name of the Department of Energy, the third cabinet-level agency he wants to eliminate from the federal government. The stumble, which dragged out over nearly a minute, underscored questions about the Texas governor's viability as a presidential candidate and debater.

When Gingrich was asked about government reform at a campaign stop in Detroit, he took the opportunity to take a shot at the Texas governor.

"I have several departments in mind," he said to laughter, according to Slate. "I've forgotten some of them… I think the place to! start is the Department of Energy."
