A top House Democrat said Thursday that the “unfortunate back and forth” over the timing of President Obama’s jobs speech next week does not reflect well on Congress.

Rep. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.), the ranking member of the House Budget Committee and a member of the new deficit-reduction supercommittee, said Americans are tired of the political tit-for-tat in Washington.

“Obviously, we are not off to a great start in that respect,” Van Hollen said on ABC’s “Topline.”
