postheadericon Poll finds Americans doubt budget supercommittee will succeed

Vice President Biden said last month that the congressional supercommittee tasked with reducing the deficit by $1.5 trillion over the next 10 years faces “very, very difficult” odds in putting together a package that would be acceptable to both chambers of Congress.

According to a new poll, voters agree with him.

Americans have little confidence in the supercommittee’s ability to strike a deal, according to a new poll from Kaiser Health. Twenty-eight percent of Americans said they had no confidence at all in the panel, while 62 percent said they had little or no confidence.
