President Barack Obama and former President George W. Bush convened at the World Trade Center site for the first time as they helped commemorate the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.

Somber ceremonies were held at all three major sites stemming from that day -- in New York City, outside Washington, D.C. at the Pentagon, and in Shanksville, PA, as those impacted by the day's tragedy gathered to reflect.

In New York, the names of the nearly 3,000 killed in the attacks were read throughout the morning, interrupted only for moments of silence to observe key moments from the day and brief comments from public leaders.
