Presidential hopeful Thad McCotter (R-Mich.) congratulated former New Mexico Gov. Gary Johnson (R) for being invited to an upcoming Republican presidential debate sponsored by Fox News and Google.

"Congratulations to @GovGaryJohnson 4 making it into @FoxNews debate! Go get 'em! http://bit.ly/p3RDSj #Tmac2012 #gop #tcot," McCotter tweeted Tuesday.

The debate is Thursday.

Both McCotter and Johnson have lagged in the polls throughout the Republican primary so far and have not attended most of the major Republican presidential debates.

McCotter recently noted that his campaign could go down in history as the first one that was not invited to a single debate.

"Breaking more new ground: on track to be 1st sitting member of Congress running 4 POTUS not allowed in a sin! gle debate," McCotter tweeted.
