Republican presidential contender and former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman (R) doubled-down Thursday on his claim that he’s the GOP candidate with the best job-creation record as governor.

Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and Texas Gov. Rick Perry have sparred over their jobs records since Perry entered the race for the Republican presidential nomination. Huntsman stepped into the fight Wednesday night at the GOP debate held at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in California.

“I hate to rain on the parade of the great Lone Star State governor, but as governor of Utah, we were the No. 1 job creator during my years in service,” Huntsman said, directing the remark at Perry across the field of other candidates at the debate.
