postheadericon Group assigns superhero status to supercommittee members

A nonprofit organization, riffing off the congressional deficit-reduction panel’s widely used “supercommittee” moniker, released a chart this week assigning each of the 12 members of the committee a familiar superhero identity.

“Americans are holding out for a hero on spending. Maybe even a superhero,” the organization Bankrupting America wrote on a blog releasing the infographic.

Bankrupting America is a project of the nonprofit, nonpartisan organization Public Notice. The group organized the members of the committee according to their votes on key spending-related issues, in an apparent effort to introduce the public to who the members are and predict how their voting records will affect their work on the committee.
