Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.) took to Twitter on Tuesday to roll out the new website and identity for the party's 2012 national convention in Charlotte, N.C.

"Honored to help kick off the 2012 @DemConvention and unveil its logo today in Charlotte," Wasserman Schultz tweeted, then linking to the recently launched demconvention.com. The site features information for potential vendors and volunteers, as well as an online store with convention merchandise.

Wasserman Schultz and Charlotte Mayor Anthony Foxx were scheduled to appear at a rally at the Time Warner Cable Arena â€" the site of the convention â€" later this afternoon.

The convention website prominently features the party's logo for the event, which co-opts the Obama "O" logo from the 2008 election but replaces the red vertical stripes in the foreground with ! what appears to be a jubilant crowd.

Republican National Committee communications director Sean Spicer used the logo unveiling to take a jab at President Obama's economic performance.

"Logo for Dem convention was unveiled today, looks like a big O but it could also be a big zero as in the number of jobs created last month," Spicer tweeted.
