postheadericon Cantor expresses hope legislators can 'foster an environment' for job creation

House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) expressed hope on Twitter Friday that legislators can agree on legislation for job creation.

"Let's take the items where we agree and pass them. Hopefully, we can work together and foster an environment for creating jobs. #JobsNow," Cantor tweeted.

Cantor's tweet comes a day after President Obama unveiled his $447 billion job creation plan, the American Jobs Act, made up of payroll tax cuts, an extension of unemployment benefits, the establishment of a national infrastructure bank and $50 billion in infrastructure investments.

I! n response, House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) offered a cool yet somewhat cooperative response to Obama's plan.

“The proposals the president outlined tonight merit consideration. We hope he gives serious consideration to our ideas as well,” Boehner said in a statement Thursday.

As of late Cantor has been making similar statements on Congress agreeing to pass legislation that both Republicans and Democrats can agree on.
