postheadericon Trump: No talk with Palin of teaming up

Donald Trump said that a kind of "Dream Team" matchup with Sarah Palin for the 2012 ticket wasn't on the menu during last night's pizza dinner in New York.

Both Republicans expressed admiration for each other following a dinner at a Times Square pizzeria, which prompted a media frenzy.

But Trump, who's withdrawn as a Republican presidential candidate, said that he and Palin, the former governor of Alaska, didn't talk about joining forces for next fall's elections.

"We really did not," Trump said on Fox News when asked if a joint ticket was among the topics of conversation. "We talked about lots of things, we did not talk about that."

Trump said he wasn't even sure if Palin would even eventually run.

“She said that she loves this country; ! she wants to point out some of the great things in the country," he said. "I asked her frankly are you going to be running. I’m not sure that she knows herself. I am not sure she has made up her mind.”

The host of NBC's "The Apprentice" also said that he could still run as an independent and is dissatisfied with the current crop of Republican candidates. He called Rep. Paul Ryan's (R-Wis.) 2012 budget a "death wish" for Republicans because of the political risks in reforming Medicare.
