postheadericon Giffords could be out of hospital by early July

Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.) could be released from the hospital where she is recovering from a gunshot wound to the head in late June or early July. 


On Wednesday the Douglas (Arizona) Dispatch reported that Giffords, who was shot in the head on Jan. 8 during a shooting rampage, could be released in the coming weeks.

The possibility of an upcoming release of Giffords comes just after the first photos of her since the shooting were released on her Facebook. Those photos were taken about a month ago at TIRR Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston. They show Giffords with close cropped dark hair and glasses.
