Would you be surprised to hear that the same home care worker who takes care of your grandparents, parents, and possibly even you or a loved one, isn’t entitled to minimum wage and overtime protections? Well, don’t be. Home care workers continue to be denied this right despite the fact that almost all American workers enjoy these basic protections.

One home care worker, however, distinguished herself as a leader on this issue and inspired a rapidly growing movement for justice and respect for all direct care workers. Her name was Evelyn Coke.
