New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, although he's no big fan of Facebook himself, visited the company's headquarters in Palo Alto Friday ahead of an event for gubernatorial candidate Meg Whitman.

"Visiting @Facebook HQ today to chat with employees," he announced on his Twitter feed.

A later tweet linked to a photo (below) of him preparing to write on a large message wall at Facebook's office. The photo was uploaded to his Facebook page, where he has 27,694 users who "like" him.

Bloomberg's conversation with Facebook employees will be webcast here starting at 1:30 p.m. E.T.

Later in the day, he'll meet with Whitman for an economic roundtable hosted by Zazzle, an online custom-products platform.
