Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow has been asked to endorse a Republican presidential candidate, but said he declined.

The popular quarterback, who has been name-checked by several GOP candidates, including Rick Perry and Michele Bachmann, told The Associated Press on Monday that more than one of the presidential hopefuls had asked for his support for their campaigns.

He did not name names.

“I think you have to have so much trust in who you support, just from product endorsements to endorsing a candidate because if that person or company does something [bad], it reflects on you,” Tebow said.
