Sen. John Cornyn (R-Tex.) previewed the Republican response to President Obama's State of the Union Monday, saying that he expected the president's address to be "a retread of the last three years."

Cornyn argued that some of the president's proposals that have leaked - including a program to help homeowners with their mortgages and an attempt to push down the cost of a college education - were more examples of Democrats trying to solve problems through government spending.

"What the president doesn't appreciate, I think, is our free enterprise system," Cornyn said during an interview on Fox News.
