postheadericon GOP freshman to Biden: âIâm not a terroristâ

Tea Party freshman Rep. Joe Walsh (R-Ill.) released a YouTube video Wednesday responding to reported remarks by Vice President Biden in which he associated Tea Partyers with terrorists.

"Vice President Biden, I'm not a terrorist. Terrorists target and kill people," Walsh says in the video.

On Monday, while speaking in a private meeting of the Democratic Caucus, Biden reportedly said that Republicans, particularly members of the Tea Party, have been acting "like terrorists" in negotiations to raise the debt ceiling. Throughout the negotiations, Democrats repeatedly criticized Republicans for refusing to compromise regardless of the deal Democrats offered.

"President Obama, we're not terrorists," Walsh said. "We're just Americans who disagree vehemently where you're taking this country. When your friends call the Tea Party organization a terrorist organization, not only do they defy your call earlier this year to be more civil, but they're i! nsulting most Americans."

Walsh also responded to a column by New York Times columnist Joe Nocera in which he wrote that "Tea Party Republicans have waged jihad on the American people."

"Joe Nocera, I don't wear a suicide vest or wage jihad, evil people who kill innocent people do such things," Walsh continues in the video. "I advocate for small businessmen and women in this country who can't hire because Washington is regulating and taxing and spending them to the brink."

Walsh also called Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) "a troll" in response to McCain using a Lord of the Rings reference in criticizing the refusal of some Republicans to support a debt-ceiling increase proposal by House Speaker John Bo! ehner (R-Ohio).

"The Democrats would have no choice! but to pass a balanced-budget amendment and reform entitlements, and the Tea Party hobbits could return to Middle Earth having defeated Mordor," McCain said in a floor speech on Thursday.

"John McCain, if I'm a hobbit then you're a troll," Walsh said. "As a freshman I may not be wise to the ways of Washington, but it's because of elected officials like you who've been around forever that we're in this mess. Because of you, government's way too big and it's suffocating the innovative, entrepreneurial and hard-working spirit that's unique to America."
