When seven-year-old Christopher Meunier’s cries of pain awakened his parents two days before Thanksgiving in 2008, they could not have known the source of his agony and vomiting would be found in misconduct at a food plant 1,300 miles away. Over the next week Christopher would be hospitalized and a year afterward would still suffer the lingering effects of his bout with foodborne illness.
