The season is finally here! Accusations, rebuttals, and character assassination are all staples of this time of year. I could be talking about the campaign season, but I’m actually referring to the current fight taking place over college football. A great tussle between the organization Playoff PAC and the college football Bowl Championship Series is now under way with all the appearances of great politics. Politics and college football don’t seem to go hand in hand but the media has been playing close attention recently to a battle between one political organization dedicated to a fairer post-season and one established entity which sees no reason to change. This battle is currently labeled as a “political” or “legislative” dispute. Nothing could be further from the truth and if the fight continues at its current dynamic Congress won’t bother stepping in.
