Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi of MTV's "Jersey Shore" tweeted Thursday afternoon to promote a youth town-hall event with President Obama airing live on MTV, CMT and BET.

"Everyone watch @barackobama Town Hall Live @ 4pm on MTV!" she said. "#mygreatesthope  is our kids can live in a world w/o having to use gasoline for cars." 

The hashtags #askjobs, #askeconomy and #mygreatesthope have been recommended by the networks as a way to direct issues and questions to the attention of the event's moderators.

Announcers said that 10,000 tweets had be! en submitted in the first 30 minutes of the town hall.
