Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's appearance at a political fundraiser in Miami scheduled for later this week has been canceled.

NBC Miami reported that a local Tea Party ground announced that Palin (R) would be unable to appear at the event at the 5,700-seat Waterfront Theatre at Miami's American Airlines Arena.

The event, which was announced last month, was to sponsored by the conservative Liberty and Freedom Foundation. The 2008 vice presidential nominee was scheduled to deliver a political speech.

Palin, a f! avorite of the Tea Party movement, has been a central player during the 2010 midterm cycle, endorsing donating money to a number of national and state GOP candidates.

Palin's visit to Miami comes five days before President Obama is scheduled to appear at a fundraiser for congressional Democrats at the home of Miami Heat legend Alonzo Mourning.

NBC Miami reported that a makeup date has not been scheduled and that ticket-holders can either gain entry to the event if it is rescheduled or receive a ! full refund.
