postheadericon Report: Bush wanted to run Major League Baseball before entering politics

George W. Bush was interested in being commissioner of Major League Baseball before he became governor of Texas and the president of the United States, according to current MLB commish Bud Selig.

Bush, back when he was part-owner of the Texas Rangers in the 1990s, "expressed interest" in being Selig's successor as commissioner, Selig told The New York Times. Selig, who took over the post in 1992 on an interim basis and became permanent commissioner in 1998, wouldn't discuss any specifics of his conversations with Bush.
