postheadericon Paul, Conway will debate after Republican's threat to skip

Kentucky Republican Senate nominee Rand Paul has decided to call off his threat to boycott his final debate with Democratic nominee Jack Conway.

Paul refused to shake Conway's hand after his last debate with Conway due to a controversial ad the Democrat released that called into question Paul's religious beliefs, based on reports that he belonged to a secret society in college that called the Bible a "hoax."

"While I do not respect Mr. Conway's inappropriate attacks, I do respect the voters of this state and therefore will participate in Monday's final debate," Paul said, according to CNN. "Kentuckians deserve another opportunity to understand the very real differences between Jack and myself. With ten days to go, I wish the campaign were about who has the best vision for Kentucky and America."

Paul threatened to not attend his final debate with Conway, which will take place Monday, over the ad.

"Why was Rand Paul a member of a secret society that called the Holy Bible 'a hoax,' that was banned for mocking Christianity and Christ?" the narrator in the ad asks.

The ad also references allegations that the society once kidnapped a young woman and forced her to kneel down and pray to a god they worshiped, called "Aqua Buddha."

Paul ha! s said in response to the ad that he has "never said or writte! n anythi ng un-Christian in my life."
