Judging by his tweets from Sunday night, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) is standing by his team despite their losses this season.

A longtime Cardinals fan, McCain tweeted "#GoCards!" as the team prepared to play the Seattle Seahawks.

He later noted a few developments from the game.

"[Quarterback Derek] Anderson back in, can the #Cards come back? I hope so ... Beanie [Wells] scores a TD! Anderson looking good!"

The Cards ultimately lost 10 to 22, which gave Seattle control of the NFC West. 

Happily for McCain, though, two of his other teams had had better luck on Saturday.

"Navy had a huge game against Notre Dame in [New Jersey]! Congrats, #GoNavy!" McCain tweeted.

The final score was 35 to 17, giving Navy their third win over the Irish since 1963. 

Later that night! , the University of Arizona Wildcats also saw a win â€" 44-14 ! over the University of Washington Huskies. McCain noted their lead in the middle of the game.

"It's halftime and the Wildcats are up 30-14 #uofa," he said.
