postheadericon Obama 'excited' for final days of campaigning

President Obama said Thursday evening that he's "excited" for the grueling final days of the 2010 campaign.

The president told Democratic Party donors in California that a lot of work was left to be done, but that he'd gleaned a sense of "resilience" in his recent heavy travels across the U.S.

"We are excited about these last 10 days. I’ve been traveling around the country," Obama said at a fundraiser at a private residence in Palo Alto. "And as we travel around the country, although everybody recognizes that the last two years have been tough, what has been remarkable is the degree of resilience people feel and the sense that as hard as things have been, we’re still going to keep on fighting to make sure that we have a better future for our kids and our grandkids."

That resilience is something that Obama will test come Nov. 2, when voters head to the polls to render a verdict on congressional Democrats, and, by extension, the preside! nt's first two years in office.

There are 11 days between now and Election Day, and the president's schedule will be packed between now and then. He'll headline rallies in Pennsylvania, Illinois, Connecticut, and Ohio in the weekend before the election, the Democratic National Committee (DNC) announced Thursday.

That's in addition to other stops Obama may week make during the last full week of the campaign. He'll spend election day itself in Washington, the White House announced earlier this week.
